How do I install the It's Done! App?
On your iPhone or iPod Touch:
1. Tap the App Store icon.
2. Search for It's Done!
3. Download the app.
4. Go to the Home Screen on your device and tap the It's Done! icon.

When I install and launch the It's Done! App, there are three Tasks showing up on the daily Task View. What gives?
To help you quickly start using the It's Done! App after it first opens, we've listed three common, everyday Tasks in the daily Task View screen: Lock Door, Turn Off Stove, Take Vitamins. You can keep and easily modify or delete these Tasks using the Edit Task or Delete Task functions.

Using It's Done! App Immediately– Quick Start FAQs
What is daily Task View?
Task View is the screen you see when you open the It's Done! App. It lists your Tasks for the day. Each Task is displayed in a horizontal box that contains:
1. Task Name
2. Task status (below Task Name) either "Task Awaiting Completion" or "It's Done!" (with accompanying time/date stamp).
3. Check-box
4. Task icon
5. Priority indicator (color) at far left
6. Task Type indicator icon (One-time, Recurring, Scheduled)
7. Notes indicator icon (if notes are attached)
8. Reminder indicator icon (if a reminder time for task completion is set)

Task View is the screen you see when you open the It's Done! App. It lists your Tasks for the day. Each Task is displayed in a horizontal box that contains:
1. Task Name
2. Task status (below Task Name) either "Task Awaiting Completion" or "It's Done!" (with accompanying time/date stamp).

4. Task icon

What are my choices for each Task?
When viewing at a particular Task in Task View, you have two choices:
1. You can tap the Check-Box to check or uncheck the Task.

How do I complete a Task?
1. Tap the Check-Box next to the Task Name and a green check-mark will appear. You'll hear a click sound and feel a brief vibration providing auditory and tactile confirmation.
2. When checked, Task status will automatically change from "Task Awaiting Completion" to "It's Done!" with accompanying time/date stamp.
How do I uncheck a completed Task?
If you need to uncheck a Task, simply tap the Check-Box and the check-mark will disappear. You'll hear a click sound and feel a brief vibration providing auditory and tactile confirmation. Task status will change from "It's Done!" back to "Task Awaiting Completion" but the Task History will record the time/date stamp of the completed Task you unchecked.
Can I check-mark the same Task again?
Yes! This is useful whenever you have to perform the same task multiple times in a day. For instance, say you locked the door in the morning and you're leaving again in the afternoon. You'll notice the check-mark for the Task from the morning. Simply tap the Check-Box to remove the check-mark and tap again to place a new check-mark in the Check-Box. You'll notice a new "It's Done!" time/date stamp for the afternoon time. The morning's Task completion time/date stamp will be kept in the It's Done! history for easy access and review. You can check and uncheck Tasks as often as you like during the day.

Working with Tasks
What Tasks are pre-loaded in the It's Done! App?
For your convenience, the It's Done! App comes pre-loaded with a Task Library of 40 routine everyday Task Names. Each Task in the Task Library, such as "Lock Door", "Turn Off Stove", etc. has a representative icon next to it.
Can I create my own Task Names for the Task Library?
Yes! Creating your own Task Name and saving it to the Task Library makes it convenient to select/use that Task in the future. Here's how:
1. Open the Add Task screen by tapping the "Clipboard +" icon.
2. Tap the Task Name field. Using the pop-up keyboard, enter your new Task Name. If you wish, select an Icon for the Task from the horizontal Icon scroll-bar.
3. Tap the Save Task Name button & your newly-created Task is saved in the Task Library for future use.
4. To use the newly created Task Name immediately, fill in the other appropriate Task fields and tap Set New Task button. Otherwise, tap the Cancel button to return to Task View page. The new Task Name will be saved in the Task Library.
Can I delete Task Names from the Task Library?
Yes. You can delete any Task Names in the Task Library that you don't use or need. Once deleted, these Task Names will no longer show in the picker wheel that appears when you tap the Choose Task field in the Add Task screen.
How do I delete a Task Name from the Task Library?
1. Open the Add Task screen by tapping the "Clipboard +" icon.
2. Tap Choose Task field (User-Defined Task shows up by default) and Task Library "picker wheel" appears.
3. Tap the Edit button and the Task Library opens.
4. Select the Task Name to be deleted by tapping the red "minus" button to the left of the Task Name.
5. Tap the Delete button that appears on the right of the Task Name to confirm the deletion.
6. Tap Done to return to the "picker wheel" (you'll notice the deleted Task Name is gone).
Can I restore pre-loaded Tasks Names that I've deleted from the Task Library?
Yes. You can restore all of the pre-loaded Task Names in the Task Library to the App's original settings:
1. Open the Settings screen by tapping the "Clipboard-gear" icon.
2. Tap Restore Task Library and tap the OK button in the pop-up confirmation box.
How do I setup, add, or edit Tasks?
It's Done! App uses one convenient Add Task/Edit Task screen for both setting up new Tasks and/or editing existing Tasks. There are two ways to access the add/edit Task screen:
1. For adding new Tasks, tap the "Clipboard +" icon.
2. For editing existing Tasks, tap the Task Name in the daily Task View screen. In the Task info box that pops up, tap the "Clipboard w/pencil" icon.

Task Type
What is a Task Type?
Task Type refers to when and how often the Task occurs. There are three Task Types:
1. One-Time: Task will appear one time only on the day it is added to Task View. [This is the default Task Type]
2. Recurring: Task will recur on the days of the week you select
3. Scheduled: You pick the future day/date for the Task to be scheduled.
How do I set a Task Type for a new Task?
1. In the Add Task screen, tap Task Type field, three menu buttons will appear:
a. One-Time: Task will appear one time only on the day it is added to Task View.
b. Recurring: Task will recur on the days of the week you select.
c. Scheduled: You pick the future for the Task to be scheduled.

Task Priority
What is a Task Priority?
Some users like to assign a priority to their routine Tasks for memory or sorting purposes. It's Done! has four levels for from which to choose, each of which is color-coded:
1. Normal: (this is the default setting for Tasks, unless changed) Blue
2. Urgent: Red
3. High: Orange
4. Low: Green
How do I set a Priority for a new Task?
1. In the Add Task screen, tap Priority field, four menu buttons will appear:
a. Normal (this is the default setting for Tasks, unless changed).

Task Category
What is a Task Category?
Some users like to group, or categorize, their routine Tasks for memory or sorting purposes. For instance, you may want to categorize "Lock Door" or "Close Garage Door" under House Tasks. Or "Feed Cat" or "Feed Dog" under Pet Tasks. It's Done! makes categorizing your Tasks easy by providing an editable list of pre-defined Categories or you can create your own Category and add it to that list.
How do I set a Task Category for a new Task?
1. To select and set a new pre-defined Category:
a. Tap the Category field (Uncategorized shows up by default)
b. Scroll through the "picker" wheel that lists Categories alphabetically to highlight the Category you want.
c. Tap the Done button.
d. The Category you select appears in the Category field.
2. To create/add your own new Category:
a. Tap Category field and highlight User-Defined Category that's listed second on the "picker" wheel.
b. Tap the Done button.
c. Tap the Category field.

Task Reminder
What is a Task Reminder?
A Task Reminder is an alert that pop-ups up at a pre-set time to remind you to complete the Task.
How does the Task Reminder work?
Say, for example, you want to be reminded to Take Morning Medication at 9:00 AM each day. You set a Task Reminder for that time. When the Task Reminder pops-up 9:00 AM, you have the choice to tap the Close or View button. Tapping Close closes the Reminder with no further alerts for the Task until the next reminder time for that Task. Tapping View opens the Task View screen of the It's Done! App (if you're not already in it). The message "Do at 9:00 AM" appears in red under the Task Name. The message remains as a reminder until you complete the Task.
How do I set a Task Reminder for a new Task?
1. In the Add Task screen, Tap the Task Reminder field (the default is No Reminder and a Time picker opens.
2. Select the Time you want and tap Done.
3. The Time you selected appears in the Task Reminder Time field.
How do I add or edit a Task Reminder for an existing Task?
1. In Task View, tap the Task Name. The pop-up information box will appear.
2. Tap the Edit Task (Clipboard-pencil) icon . The Add Task screen will open.
3. Tap Reminder field and a Time picker opens.
4. Select the Time you want and tap Done.
5. The Time you selected appears in the Task Reminder Time field.
6. To save your changes to the Task Reminder, simply tap the Save Changes button.
How do I turn off (or disable) a Task Reminder?
Follow the steps for editing a Task Reminder, but when the Time picker opens, tap the Disable button. The Reminder will be disabled and the Reminder field will change from whatever time was previously set to "None Set".

Task Notifications
What is a Task Notification?
It's Done! allows you to automatically send a text message (SMS) and/or Email to others letting them know you've completed a Task. For example, a son wants to make sure his mother has taken her daily medicine without having to call her. Using It's Done! on her iPhone, Mother takes medication and check-marks the "Take Medication" Task. Instantly, a pre-addressed SMS and/or email is automatically generated to notify Son. Within seconds, Son receives a text message and/or email from Mother confirming (with welcome assurance) that It's Done!
How do Task Notifications work?
With Task Notification enabled for a Task, when you tap a Check-Mark to complete it, a pop-up Notifications message will ask, "Do you want to send a notification for this task?" If you tap Cancel, the pop-up message will close and no notification will be sent, but the Task will remain checked as completed. If you tap OK, depending on how you've set up Notifications, the following will happen:
1. For SMS notifications, when you tap OK, your iPhone's SMS app opens with a New Message screen for sending a text message. The recipient's name automatically filled in. The message is also automatically filled in with the Task Name and the words "It's Done!" Tapping Send transmits the text message.
2. For Email notifications, when you tap OK, your iPhone's Email app opens with the recipient's address automatically filled in. The subject line is filled in with "Task Notification" and the body of the Email is filled in with the Task Name and "It's Done!" Tapping Send transmits the Email.
3. For both SMS and Email Notification for the same Task, when you tap OK, It's Done! opens/sends the Email first, then the SMS text message second.
4. After the SMS text and/or Email have been sent, you are returned to the Task View screen.
How do I set a Task Notification for a new Task?
1. In the Add Task screen, Tap the Notifications field (default is None). A pop-up selection screen opens.
2. To add a SMS (text) Notification:
a. Tap the SMS button in the horizontal choice selector.
b. Tap the SMS button in the horizontal choice selector.
c. Tap the Set button, the pop-up will close, and you'll notice "SMS" in the Notifications field.
3. To add a Email Notification:
a. Tap the Email button in the horizontal choice selector.
b. Tap the Email field and your iPhone's Contacts app will automatically open. The contact Email address you select will be added to the Email field box.
c. Tap the Set button, the pop-up will close, and you'll notice "Email" in the Notifications field.
4. To add both SMS and Email Notifications:
a. Tap the Both button in the horizontal choice selector.
b. Add the SMS phone number and Email address (if not already entered) as per the instructions above.
c. Tap the Set button, the pop-up will close, and you'll notice "Both Email & SMS" in the Notifications field.
How do I add or edit a Task Notification for an existing Task?
1. In Task View, tap the Task Name. The pop-up information box will appear.
2. Tap the Edit Task (Clipboard-pencil) icon. The Add Task screen will open.
3. Follow the instructions in the section above: "How do I set a Task Notification for a new Task?"
4. To save your changes to the Task Notification, simply tap the Save Changes button.
How do I turn off (or disable) a Task Notification?
1. In the Add Task screen, tap the Notifications field. A pop-up selection screen opens.
2. Tap the None button in the horizontal choice selector. Tap the Set button.
3. The Notification will be disabled and the Notifications field will change to "None".

Task Notes
What are Task Notes?
Task Notes can be attached to any Task for any notes you want to remember. For example, if you take three medications in the morning of different dosages, you can attach Task Notes with the names and doses to the Task, "Take Morning Medication". The Task Notes provides a fully editable page for you to input whatever you'd like using the pop-up keyboard.
How do I add Notes to a Task?
There are two ways to add Notes to a Task:
1. When setting up a new Task:
a. Tap the Task Notes field, a Notes screen and keyboard will open.
b. Enter your Notes and tap Done.
c. The first several words will appear in the Notes field, confirming the Notes are there.
2. When in Task View:
a. Tap the Task Name. The pop-up information box will appear.
b. Tap the "Clipboard-notes" icon, a Notes screen and keyboard will open.
c. Enter your Notes and tap Done.
d. A tiny icon next to the left of Task Name in Task View indicates there are Notes for the Task.
How do I view Task Notes?
1. In Task View, tap the Task Name. The pop-up information box will appear.
2. Tap the "Clipboard-notes" icon. The Task Notes screen will open.

Deleting Tasks
How do I delete a Task?
1. In Task View, tap Task Name. The pop-up information box will appear.
2. Tap the "Clipboard-X" icon. A screen with four menu choices will open:
a. Delete Task & Its History: Deletes Task and any Task completion history related to it.
b. Delete Day Only: Deletes Task for today only. Retains Task on any future recurring or scheduled days, but keeps history of Task completion.
c. Delete Day & Future Days: Deletes Task for today and all future recurring or scheduled days, but keeps history of Task completion.
d. Cancel: Deletion operation cancelled, takes you back to Task View.

Viewing Past & Future Tasks
How do I view my Tasks for past dates?
There are three convenient ways to view Tasks in the past, each of which starts on the Task View screen:
1. For Tasks in the past week only, tap the day (yesterday, last Monday, etc.) in the horizontal Day bar.
2. Tap the Go to Date button to open the date picker. Select the past day you want and tap Done.
[Note: Each of the above two methods will display the Task View screen for past day/date selected]
3. Tap the "Clipboard-calendar" icon on the Task View screen. A date picker (with today's date) will open at the top of the screen with a Task summary at the lower half of the screen.
a. Select the past date you want to view. The summary changes to the Tasks for that day.
b. Tap the View in Task List button and the Task View of the past day will open.

How do I return to the present day (today) after viewing past or future dates?
Two easy ways:
1. Tap the time/date on the top right-hand side of Task View screen.
2. Tap the Today button in the horizontal Day bar.
When viewing past or future Tasks, what can I change?
If you are viewing past or future Tasks in Task View for a particular day, you can tap Task Name to view the pop-up info box. You're also free to edit or delete the Task, but remember that any changes you make to a Task's fields may affect that Task's attributes whenever that Task occurs.
When viewing past or future Tasks, can I change the check-box?
No. To preserve the history of a Task's completion, the It's Done! App will not allow you to add or remove check-marks to past Tasks. To prevent confusion, the app will also not allow you to add or remove check-marks to future Tasks. Today's Task View is the only place you can add or remove check-marks.

Task Sorting
How do I sort my Tasks?
1. In the Task View screen, tap the "Clipboard-up/down arrows" icon.
2. A "picker" will open in the bottom half of the screen with the following choices:
a. No Task Sorting [Default]: Tasks will appear in the order in which they were added.
b. Sort by Task Name: Tasks sorted alphabetically by first letter of Task Name.
c. Sort by Task Priority: Tasks sorted by Urgent, High, Normal, Low.
d. Sort by Done/Not Done: Tasks sorted with currently check-marked tasks listed first.
e. Sort by Task Type: Tasks sorted by One-Time, Recurring, Scheduled.
f. Sort by Task Category: Tasks are listed within their respective Categories and sorted alphabetically by Category Name.
3. Select the choice you want and tap Done.
Can I change the order of my Tasks within a Category?
Yes! Next to the "Sort By" Category heading in Task View is an up/down arrow (up arrow is default). Tapping the "Sort By" Category heading will change the Category sort order. The up arrow means Tasks are sorted in ascending order (A-Z, 1-10, etc.). The down arrow means Tasks are sorted in descending order (Z-A, 10-1, etc.).

Task Completion History
How do I view History of Completed Tasks?
1. While viewing any Task View Screen (today, past, or future), tap the Task Name. The pop-up information box will appear.
2. Tap the "Clipboard-History" icon, the Task History screen will open displaying the Completed Tasks for the day in chronological order. Tap the All button to view the Completed Tasks for all the days the History has been kept.
3. Tap Done to return to pop up information box.
Can I change or edit the History of Completed Tasks?
No. The history is provided for informational purposes only, however, you can change the length of time for which the history is kept by going to the "Settings" screen.
Can I delete the History of Completed Tasks?
Yes. Any time you tap the Delete icon for a particular Task, you'll be asked if you want to delete the Task only or Task and its history. If you delete the Task only, the history for the Task will remain in the app's database.

It's Done! App Settings
How do I access the Settings screen?
On the Task View screen, simply tap the Settings icon ["Clipboard-Gear] to open the Settings screen.
What settings can I change?
1. Sound on Check [ON/OFF]: The "click" sound that occurs when you tap a Check-Mark can be turned off (the default setting is "ON").
2. History:
a. Auto Purge [ON/OFF]: When Auto Purge is ON, the It's Done! App automatically purges all history of Tasks older than the number of days set below. When Auto Purge is OFF, the App maintains history of all Tasks indefinitely. To save memory resources, the Auto Purge default setting is "ON".
b. Purge Older Than Days: Tapping this Setting opens a numeric keyboard from which you can key in the number of days. To preserve memory resources, the default number of days is set at "365".
c. Purge History: Tap this button to manually Purge History of all Tasks.
3. Original App Settings:
a. Restore Task Library: If you've deleted any of the Tasks in the Task Library, tapping Restore Task Library will restore the original 40 Tasks that came in the Task Library. New Tasks that you've added since installing/launching It's Done! will remain in the Restored Task Library.
b. Restore Original Categories: If you've deleted any of the original Task Categories, tapping Restore Original Categories will restore the pre-loaded with the App. New Categories that you've added since installing/launching It's Done! will remain in the Original Categories List.

Does the It's Done! App support multitasking in iOS 4?
Yes! It's Done! supports multitasking, the fast app switching feature of iOS 4 (and above) that allows users to quickly switch between recently used apps.
Does the It's Done! App remain open while I'm using other apps?
Yes! In iOS 4 (and above) versions, the It's Done! App remains open and runs in the background for your convenience. This makes it easy to return to the Task View screen at any time. If you leave the app and come back to it after using another app, remember to refresh the Task View screen by tapping the time/date display on the top right-hand side of the screen.
How do I close the It's Done! App?
In iOS versions below 4.0 that don't support multitasking, the It's Done! App will close whenever you open another app. To close the It's Done! App in iOS 4 (and above), simply double-click the Home button. Your most recently used apps appear at the bottom of the screen, in order starting from the left. Touch and hold the It's Done! App icon until it begins to jiggle, then tap the "x".
Does iTunes back up my It's Done! App and its data?
Yes! As with your other applications, iTunes creates backups of settings, downloaded apps and data, and other information on your iPhone or iPod touch. You can use backup to restore the It's Done!
